5: This is the only picture taken from the "other" end of the village that I have. The smithy would have been on the photographer's right, and therefore not included in the photograph.  The school is at the far end of the road.

I have no way to date it at the moment, but I see that there is a telegraph pole outside the Post Office (almost in the centre of the picture).

6: The Red Row was a group of houses, long since demolished, near the church at the west end of the village. This postcard seems to be from the same series as that of the Post Office and the first of the photos on the previous page.
According to the 1901 census, 3 households, all including quarry labourers, lived here. If my estimate of 1901-ish for the picture is correct, the only girl that age living there was Nellie Russell, and the baby would be her brother James.  The man could be any of four adult male Red Row residents at that time - James Russell (age 61), Thomas Russell (32), Thomas Ballantyne (38), James Stenhouse (40).

If it's a little later, the girl could be Elizabeth Ballantyne (born 1900).

7: The Red Row, dated 1915, by John Blair.
The artist had his back to the village, looking west. The Manse is hidden in the trees in the centre of the picture, and the Church is out of the frame to the left. Beyond, in the distance, are the Crofts.

The couple on the road are standing pretty much where the photographer was to get picture number 6!
