4: Clearly a different postcard series, this hand-coloured image
includes at least 6 people at the far end of the road (below). There's
a large wheel outside the house on the left - there's some evidence that
this was a wright's workshop at one time. The small yellow building at the
end of that row was the smithy.
The name board on the end of the house reads "J. Turner
Joiner". Turner was in Coldingham in 1897, but is in the 1901
Whitsome census. He
died in Whitsome in 1922.
