Tenants and their workers
The people who actually lived and worked at Ravelaw were, of course, the tenant farmers (until the middle of the 20th century, although for much of the 19th century, the tenant of Ravelaw actually lived at Langrig, running the 2 farms together), the agricultural labourers, and their families.
Thanks to the census and the valuation rolls, the community is much more easily described after the mid-19th century.
