Based on the success and foundations of EADIS, a new Leonardo project has been defined and approved by the EU entitled European Boat Design and Innovation Group (EBDIG). This includes Universities of Coventry and Delft, and also includes boat design Industry.
At 2 december 2009, all consortium partners sent delegates to finalize the EADIS project in terms of content development, evaluation of the content by students and industry, and possible follow-up projects.
The consorrtium was present at the Navigation&Location Europe 2009 conference, Amsterdam. We organized a succesful workshop and had a demo stand to present our findings, videos and other media. It allowed intense networking with industry and EU commision delegates. more information...
The consortium met officially on October 21 and 22 in Munster. On the agenda was the progress of Work packages 2b and 2c and 3, as well as the interim report, which is due soon.
Two of our project members have attended Navigation&Location Europe 2008, a commercial conference on the future of telematics. All relevant companies were present, including Tom Tom, Garmin, car manufacturers etc.
During the seventh International symposium on Tools and Methods of Competitive Engineering (TMCE 2008), a special 2-hour event was scheduled to talk about EADIS and vehicle telematics. Various consortium members gave presentations and we had a lively discussion with the TMCE participants.
